BZ-BusCluster German fuel cell bus cluster
Project period: 01/2020 – 12/2025
The introduction of electric buses presents transport companies with new technical and operational challenges. In order to reduce the barriers to entry, the German fuel cell bus cluster facilitates an intensive exchange of experience between local transport companies.
The cluster already has over 80 member transit companies that operate fuel cell buses, are interested in them, or are looking to adopt the technology.
Discussions among members focus on the technical development of the vehicles, the range of vehicles currently available on the market, the development of necessary hydrogen infrastructure, and, last but not least, experiences gained from operating the buses.
The cluster provides information that enables transport companies to make well-informed decisions regarding current and upcoming matters. It meets biannually at one of its member companies.
Together with its partner Energy Engineers, hysolutions manages the cluster. Its responsibilities include organizing cluster meetings, facilitating knowledge sharing among cluster members, and conducting surveys.
